I want parents to know: you’re not alone when it comes to supporting your children’s #MentalHealth. Resources are available, and simply letting your kids know you’re there for them and ready to talk can make a BIG difference.
@Surgeon_General Our low-effort "New Normal," born of learned helplessness, and featuring increased disease & reduced lifespans, isn't doing good things for mental health either. We need policies that actually reduce disease, instead of encouragement to cheerfully accept plummeting health.
@Surgeon_General a big problem we have is the failure to have competent leadership to deliver vaxxes which actually work instead of proclaiming all is over. we need truth we need competence we need results
@Surgeon_General Kids mental health will improve the most when our govt pushes harder to beat back Covid. The conflict of fighting over mitigations are more stressful for kids than the mitigations where they can take an active role in helping. Why aren’t you advocating Corsi Rosenthal boxes?
@Surgeon_General Hey, Vivek. When you have the time, could you please take a look at this video? I am just using this tweet as a basis to share, but I know, if you take an interest, you'll understand the reasons behind the choices some people have made in the last 2 years. It's important. /1
@Surgeon_General Do you think depth therapy that goes on as long as the clinician and child’s family feel is needed and beneficial should be available to all, including folks who would need insurance to pay for it? (As of now it isn’t.) Right now most get only brief therapy or none @PsiANorg
@Surgeon_General Imagine if every child were offered insight into their inner engineering? Bringing together 600+ published scientific research papers into a 📖 which saved my life might be of value to others seeking understanding about their inner thoughts, feelings and instincts… 🤔
@Surgeon_General This has not at all been our experience trying to get care for our teenager. It has been exactly the opposite! 🤬
@Surgeon_General Then you for your service. Under your leadership, your office awarded us an award for Sinasprite, making it the first mental health video game to win a US surgeon general award. It’s a great resource for families.
