Please make sure you have a contract that has specific anti-AI/machine learning language, and covers all parties involved in the production process, as well as forbidding work product to be sold after the fact to such companies.
Sometimes the company you book with will send you to a studio they have a relationship with to record, so you need to make sure your contract covers that studio's ability to handle your voice work too. There's so much to consider when it comes to protection from AI.
It can be so hard to remain professional in those panicky situations, but I'm so glad I thought to ask and didn't just brush it off, so I wanted to share the experience with everyone. Make sure the writing in your contract covers prohibiting any 3rd party's use of AI as well.
I was shaking in the car and emailed my agent, who reached out to him right away. I don't know what website he was using and I'm waiting to hear back so I know if I have to reach out to have it removed, as well as finding out what the next steps are.
He said: oh tbh I just uploaded your voice to this AI website to make any edits I need. Me: Please remove it. I don't consent to my voice being used for AI. I don't know what the ToS is for the site either. That's not good for my career. I'm happy to book a retake sesh any time.
