Mike Tomlin and the front office need to take a hard look at the Chiefs and Bills. That's what a legitimate Super Bowl contender looks like. This team will never be on that level until they find a franchise QB who can compete with players like Mahomes and Allen.
@TommyJaggi Not sure that’s really insightful stuff. Finding a franchise quarterback is usually top of the list for teams that do not have it.
@joe_scherer24 The Steelers believed an aging, deteriorating Ben was going to be good enough to get the job done. They should have been looking for their guy for years. They have not taken a proactive approach when it comes to searching for a QB.
@TommyJaggi Those are two different points. Point one is teams need a franchise quarterback to compete in this league. Point two is Steelers didn’t plan for Ben’s eventual downfall. My response is the same. Saying you need a franchise altering quarterback is pretty obvious.
@TommyJaggi @joe_scherer24 The Steelers tried to go all in for one last run with Ben. Because they recognize how rare it is to find a franchise QB. Also, what other option did they have this year, picking late with limited cap space?
@TommyJaggi @joe_scherer24 When you have a Franchise QB you do everything you can to provide him as much talent as you can on either side of the ball Packers drafted their Next Franchise QB 2 yrs ago and how has that worked out To get one you need to be drafting in the top 10 or get lucky in the later rds
