Melvin Ingram is a perfect example of why you can't properly assess the game as a 'box score checker.' Ingram had just 1 sack and 2 TFL in 6 games for #Steelers last year, and fans assumed he wasn't good anymore. Now he's the AFC defensive player of the month for the Dolphins.
@TommyJaggi I don't think Melvin wanted to be in Pittsburgh tho. And the fact they let Highsmith start over him which is laughable honestly. Ingram is way better then Highsmith. I personally think Highsmith is over-rated.
@TommyJaggi Now whenever Steelers bring in a vet I’m afraid he’ll get Melvin Ingram disease
@TommyJaggi Oh, people knew Ingram was good, including himself. Which is why he wasn’t happy about his playing time.
@TommyJaggi This is not true at all, No one assumed he wasent any good. He barley got any playing time with us. Tommy time to start paying attention to the game of football instead of your precious analytics
@TommyJaggi But you're doing it now... 🤦🏽♂️🙄
@TommyJaggi People knew he was good. That wasn’t the problem, the problem was trying to balance starting the veteran edge rusher while also maintaining to develop the younger edge rusher in Alex Highsmith. Steelers tried to balance it, Ingram wanted more. A trade happened
@TommyJaggi I don't think anyone said he was bad He's not TJ but we thought he could be a great addition for when TJ or Highsmith were gassed
