(7/10) Without ongoing monitoring of these funds through gender- and rights-based standards, it is very difficult to assess if 25% - 33% of the National Housing Strategy (NHS) resources are dedicated to women and girls, as committed to by the Government of Canada.

(6/10) As funding is rolled out, we are calling for clear targets, timelines, or indicators that monitor and track the impact on women and gender-diverse peoples, including groups experiencing intersectional discrimination and the most severe forms of housing instability.

(5/10) The housing crisis has had a disproportionate impact on women, gender-diverse people, & single mothers, who are overrepresented in core housing need and urgently need appropriate housing solutions.

(4/10) More great news from the Statement: increased regulation around short-term rentals that can bring 1000s of rental units the market. While the statement offers many supply side solutions, we need measures like eviction prevention or a homelessness prevention benefit.
