it makes complete sense that Caitlin Clark is receiving a signature shoe — brands capitalize on moments, BUT … it’s a very real problem that her (now) peers with EXTENSIVE PRO RESUMES … do not. and it is very fair to call that out and ask “why?”
Two things can be true at the same time: 1) Caitlin Clark is going to be the MJ of women’s sneakers, and Nike had to take that opportunity the moment it was available; 2) It is 100% a fair question to wonder what else A’ja Wilson has to do to get her own signature shoe already.

Do not make this a debate about the marketability of A'ja Wilson. There is no debate about the marketability of A'ja Wilson. A'ja Wilson should be viewed as the most marketable player in the W. This is about a failure to recognize her star power.

Business and marketing is not about equal treatment. I would think sports fans would understand this more than anyone. The people that move the needle get the bread and resources. As soon as they fall off, the machine moves to someone else. Period
