Wow this really kicked off quite the discussion. I guess I should clarify that I have no objection to the Arcia extension. It's just an out of nowhere plot point in a story that's had a lot of crazy twists and turns. Wouldn't be worth commenting on in December.

Ozuna in LF. Arcia gets an extension. I don't understand what's happening. But for now I'm just happy baseball is back.

If you've seen the Braves results in the last 3 Aprils they've played, the whole "trust AA" thing only goes so far. Haven't come out of the gate strong most years he's been here and often for reasons twitter consensus anticipated.

@DansbyPugh @b_outliers The options were not great but it was far from a given that Grissom would get the call.

I wondered most of the offseason if the Grissom hype was something the team really believed or propaganda to get a better deal in the trade or FA market. Either way it didn't work apparently.

@b_outliers Not AA's style anyway. If they were that worried about service time with Grissom calling him straight from AA last year wasn't really the move.

I kinda felt like Shewmake was the forgotten player when people wrote stories about the SS battle this offseason. But we're not actually considering giving him the starting job, are we?
