The Biden-Harris Administration’s student debt relief plan will give working and middle-class Americans more breathing room. ✅$20,000 in debt relief for Pell Grant recipients ✅$10,000 in debt relief for borrowers who did not receive a Pell Grant StudentAid.gov.
@WhiteHouse A respectful request. Could you add "Unless the @GOP are successful in their lawsuits trying to take away the debt relief that the Biden Administration is providing under a bipartisan agreement"
@WhiteHouse What’s this about the DOE changing the wording and millions that thought their loans were being cancelled are now excluded from the program? What gives? And if you applied before today you could be included but anything after today, no. Please respond.
@WhiteHouse @POTUS You broke my heart today. You lied to us. You told us to wait until October. Then, you changed the rules at the last minute. This is unforgivable. I have lost faith in you.
@WhiteHouse FFEL borrower got screwed by the Biden Administration today. We were told to wait until October to consolidate to direct loans and then today they changed the dealine to yesterday. I feel so betrayed by this administration. 😡
@WhiteHouse Hi! Just me over here with About 18k left of FFEL loans. Been paying monthly for almost 14 years, even through Covid. So I can consolidate into direct loan to get forgiveness, but wait for guidance? Cool. When do I need to have it done? White House: Yesterday.. Me: ……
@WhiteHouse @POTUS @NPR is reporting that eligibility for FFEL recipients has been walked back by the Administration. We didn’t select the loans your servicing provider put us in and most received Pell Grants. We should AT LEAST still be eligible for the $10K for being Pell recipients!
@WhiteHouse It would have been kinder to just tell us FFEL loan recipients that we couldn’t get relief than get our hopes up by telling us we could get relief. This was a cruel joke.
@WhiteHouse I actually disagree with this plan. I'd rather set a variable rate equal to the Fed Funds rate. The last loan my daughter took when the Fed Funds rate was near zero was at 7%. Why the hell are we letting banks get free money to loan out and not giving our kids money to learn?
@WhiteHouse I didn't get "breathing room " instead I got a job!
