@Timcast Do people realize that THIS is what Anarcho-capitalism is? It doesn’t mean chaos. It just means moving societies needs out of government monopoly and into the free market.
@rlziggyTTV @Timcast And the neighborhoods already full of crime.. the poor ones.. those grandparents.. single moms.. those people without financial resources? They fend for themselves?
@anthony556762 @Timcast You mean the people who are currently being taxed for a service they aren’t receiving? Yeah those would be covered under general patrol by companies who have financial incentives to keep an area safe for their paying customers.
@anthony556762 @Timcast Not to mention, the free market drives prices lower. If you can afford Netflix, you should be able to afford to chip in for community patrol. Keep in mind, every dollar spent and gained is currently taxed. They are already paying.
@rlziggyTTV @Timcast While I appreciate that conceptually it sounds great.. in practice you end up with several companies dominating the space and then a reduction in quality over time.. nothing ever changes that.. companies are great while gaining business and then not so much..
@anthony556762 @Timcast That’s not how a free market works. Regulation causes the thing you are describing. What prevents competition in a free market?
@rlziggyTTV @Timcast The same thing that prevents the majority from voting out corrupt politicians that do not serve the people.. apathy.. we slowly are conditioned to accept betraying.. mediocrity.. and eventually choose the least sucky option.. as opposed to seeking actual change..
@anthony556762 @Timcast You’re talking about the consumer. I’m talking about the provider. What stops a provider from competing in a free market? Consumer apathy only applies in situations where alternatives are not convenient.
