This meteorologist didn't push his religion on you. He said a two-second prayer in the moment as he saw a debris marker indicating that people were likely dying as he spoke on air. Then he went back to his job. Allow people to have humanity in a crisis, damn.

Note, this guy is getting ratioed badly, and about half the people in the comments section who are criticizing him for this awful take identify as atheist or nonreligious. Because most people recognize a moment of sincere humanity when they see it, regardless of beliefs.
@ashtonpittman Humanity prevails. Good job.
@ashtonpittman Agreed. I can't put down someone showing true empathy for others.
@ashtonpittman I am not religious, but I am human. Totally related with him in that moment. What a bad take from that dude.
@ashtonpittman @jallen1985 I am religious, but think that we shouldn’t force our religion on others. AND, Matt did not do that. He saw something horrific happening and asked HIS GOD to provide GRACE to those who were surely in the worst situation they had ever been in. Thankful for one who will do that!
@ashtonpittman I am not particularly a believer in the effect prayer can have on third parties or issues, but I do believe the meditative quality can soothe the supplicant. Also, Matt Laubhan is a MS treasure.
@ashtonpittman service to humanity happened live on television and yet some people witnessed another reality altogether
@ashtonpittman I am very atheist and I wasn’t offended at all. He was showing concern for people, that’s it. Save the outrage for politicians that try to legislate to force people to live by the politicians religion.
@ashtonpittman Count me as another atheist who has no problem with this guy being a caring human.
@ashtonpittman He may have saved lives by doing that. If I lived in the area and had been watching, it would have scared the crap out of me. I would have made it to shelter with lightning speed.
