We've (and I do mean 'We') raised a generation somehow obsessed with being nominally & superficially associated with ethereal movements rather than humbly devoted to building real local communities. The former takes self-serving clicks, the latter requires self-giving work.
Since we're talking reparations, I know some Baptists and Presbyterians who'd like a word with any descendants from the House of Tudor.

@bjmaxwell For that reason I decided not to do a one-year Bible reading plan this year. When I do one I’m always too focused on hitting my goal to absorb it as I’d like and have to resist the urge to research and dig deeper.
@bjmaxwell We recently visited the National Gallery in London and noticed a man who spent 1-2 seconds in front of each painting. He snapped a quick photo and moved on. That gallery houses some of the most famous art in the world. He failed to take any of it in. I’m trying to avoid this.

Psalms. Ch. 37:3-5 - Trust in the Lord and do good….cultivate faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him and He will do it. (Delight in Him comes before the desires given.)
2 Tim. 2:22 - flee youthful lusts and pursue - Righteousness - Faith - Love - Peace Pursue them with a pure heart. Dad’s let’s make this our desire for our kids. BUT, keep in mind we can’t make it happen, so pray for dads with kids not willing to pursue these qualities.
Psalm 25:20-21 - my desire(s) for Samuel and Nathan; “Guard my soul and deliver me; Do not let me be ashamed, for I take refuge in You. Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, For I wait for You.” Coming to the end of your days will help one reflect on what truly matters.
Psalm 130:5-7, I am waiting on the Lord and in His Word do I hope. I am waiting on His timing for my life and the redemption of my soul (v.7). My hope is in His promise that He is lovingkindness (v.7). Patiently waiting till He calls me home, and to serve Him until He does.
