Skipping the school drop-off traffic for more active commutes like walking or wheeling can contribute to the recommended 60 minutes of physical activity kids need each day. Join the movement! hamilton.ca/home-neighbour… #HamOnt #ActiveHamilton
@cityofhamilton Far too many lazy parents these days.
@cityofhamilton Love this. Crossing guards at major intersections/high traffic areas (eg. along Upper James) would support this. Pedestrian accidents & longer distances between school/home = reluctant parents. Driving ends up being safer (vs walk/bike) & more reliable (vs bus).
@cityofhamilton @jeffbeattie2014 I'm sorry but you have a lot of infrastructure work to do before you should tweet this.
@cityofhamilton If you live in Westcliffe or Buchanan neighbourhoods were organizing a #bikebus April 21st! Follow to get updates and more information’
@cityofhamilton Love this initiative, however, what is the city doing to improve crosswalks? I was hit by a pickup truck walking my daughter to daycare 1 month ago (had to launch her stroller to make sure she didn’t get hit). Still no solutions from the councillor or staff. #HamOnt
@cityofhamilton @jeffbeattie2014, We would love to walk or ride to school or our bus stop but, as you know, our neighbourhood doesn't have sidewalks or safe routes to do so along Grays Rd, despite being adjacent to a Conservation area.
