Dear Twitter family, When I tweeted that I was lucky to make it to 70 on my birthday, I didn't realize how rophetic my words were. I'm in stage 4 gall bladder and liver cancer. While I preferred just palliative care, my sons want eto try a high-risk surgery.
I meet with the surgeon Thursday. I'm sad, but not angry, that medical facilities overburdened with Covid slowed down the process of getting a diagnosis and treatment by several critical months.
I doubt that I will be able to vote in 2022 or 2024. Would each of you take someone to vote in my place, please?
I won't be able to make political contributions. Could each one of you find a candidate or cause to support for me? I can't canvass, or call, or write letters. Would you be my voice?
@contrarymary197 Thinking of you so much as you move through this journey, Mary. 🙏
@contrarymary197 Don’t give up. There is always hope. Prayers going up.
@contrarymary197 My first son will turn 18 in 2022. I will drag him to the polls if need be. I will think of you on that day. Whatever you decide to do either surgery or palliative care, I hope you will be comfortable and surrounded by your family.
@contrarymary197 This will be my daughter's first election. Consider it done. God Bless.
