#CastleSaturday Kerak Castle, built by the Crusader kings of Jerusalem to control the trade routes east of the Jordan. Besieged by Saladin, to whom it fell in the 1180s. Rebuilt by the Ayyubids and Mamluks and still garrisoned by the Ottomans as late as the early 20th century.
