@huwlemmey @shiva__n the series is very bad and secondary. even a couple of years ago, South Korean cinema was not so popular in the world and this series would not have gained any popularity. managers noticed and released it exactly at the moment when this mediocre craft had a chance to be popular
@huwlemmey "Nobody knows anything." William Goldman.
@huwlemmey I feel like every human being in South Korea should be given the cash to make a horror/genre film at least every few years. It seems to be their thing.
@huwlemmey This is an excellent take and anyone wanting to know more should check out “Bullshit Jobs” by David Graeber
@huwlemmey @indiedynamo This is exactly what I read too.
@huwlemmey I thought the same thing! The movie and TV industries are still all about giving power to the entertainment gatekeepers.
@huwlemmey The phrasing of "cultural middle managers". The sheer balls-deep bullseye spot on accuracy.
@huwlemmey I legit couldn't have said this better myself? "Congrats! This former underling has triumphed!" All that tells me is for 10 years, the decision makers were wrong.
@huwlemmey @failnaut So much this. Every episode of "The Movies That Made Us" seems to be basically The Hunger Games in which scrappy creators try to evade incompetent corporate stooges, gather resources, and survive long enough to be seen.
