I obviously didn't grow up in the 80s but two things I think people forget about a lot 1) To my understanding that poppy colour was kinda a late-80s thing (not %100 dont sue me) 2) People tend to keep stuff from the past. Which means those 80s houses have a ton of 70s stuff

my point mostly being that decades have holdovers from previous decades and anyone who tries to design stuff to be totally homogenous with new stuff from that time will end out looking kinda inauthentic. Thats not even counting hand-me-downs or inheritance or antiques
