NEW: Colleges would have to scrap preferences for legacy applicants and student athletes to improve racial diversity if the US Supreme Court ends affirmative action in admissions, even if they consider other factors such as class, per a new study. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
@itskelseybutler The phrase “improve racial diversity” doesn’t make sense. There’s no optimal level of diversity/homogeneity. Legacy admissions and racial discrimination are both bad and should be ended, but not because they “improve” or “worsen” racial diversity
@itskelseybutler @business How does "Student Athletes" fit into the equation?
@itskelseybutler @business Good with that. Legacy preferences should end. Considering “class” is also fraught with problems. It will be a whole new landscape on college admissions.
