Took us about 10 weeks after the fire, but the house is now empty. We ended up trashing about 70% of our possessions, but all the important stuff is off to cleaning. Not sure what (or where) is next. Not surprisingly, in insurance world, everything takes way longer than expected.

After more than a month of waiting, we're finally able to start removing what we can salvage from the house. So far the outlook is positive -- we are surprised at some of the things we've been able to reclaim. Gotta empty the house, then it can be remediated.

Hey fam. Logging back on to tell you that there was a major fire next to our place yesterday. We are all ok (dogs too). Our house didn't burn, but it suffered heavy smoke and water damage. Three of our neighbors' houses were destroyed. I'll post updates here in the coming days.
