The Junior Travel Assistance Fund will be available for young Tasmanian athletes aged from 12 – 18 who have made a Tasmanian representative side and are required to travel interstate to compete at an eligible national sporting championship or event. More info will be out soon.

I think that it’s crucial that these Clinics are as accessible as possible. So they are going to be based in places like neighbourhood houses and child & family learning centres.

The Clinics will provide comprehensive health and wellbeing checks to Tasmanian children who need it the most. We want to make sure that no child falls through the cracks and that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

They’re going to focus on our most vulnerable children and their families. So Tasmanian kids like Zaviour, no matter their background, can get the best start in life.

Zaviour wants to play in the Australian Open one day. He’s training every day to make that happen. I think that’s pretty cool. Today, we’re launching Kids Care Clinics right across the State.

The new Cardiology Ward includes 38 beds and double the number of Critical Care beds. It was tremendous to catch up with Jon, the Nurse Unit Manager of the new ward recently. I hope the new facility helps Jon and his outstanding team with their incredible work 👍👍

We promised a new heart ward at the Royal in 2021. It started seeing patients this week. And I’m pretty damn proud about it ❤️

Today, we’re expanding the list of vaccines that can be done by your local pharmacist, like Caleb here from South Hobart pharmacy. Usually you have to visit a GP to receive a script, visit the pharmacist to collect the vaccine, and return to the clinic to have it administered.

I’ve asked for further investigation to be done on extending it to banning Nazi salutes as well. Because it’s the right thing to do.

Nazi salutes and the message they send have no place in Tasmanian society. This week, we’re introducing legislation that will target the display of Nazi symbols.

As with the Optus incident, to access the free replacement licence customers will need to present evidence from Latitude that they have been impacted by the data breach or sign a statutory declaration to state that their personal information was compromised.

Those impacted by the data breach can visit any Service Tasmania shopfront to arrange a new licence number and a replacement licence card.

We currently expect that several thousand Tasmanian licences may potentially be affected however we are working to determine a more definitive number.

All Tasmanians affected by the Latitude Financial hack will be eligible for a new drivers licence, free of charge.
