Hamilton’s Sunshine List: St. Joe’s spent $1.9 million on leaders including former CEO who hasn't worked there in 2 years, researcher tops the #HamOnt list for 6th year in a row and city's top-paid nurse made $238,783. Lists for each sector thespec.com/news/hamilton-… via @TheSpec
@jfrketich @TheSpec The health system seems to have sufficient funds for hospital CEO salaries, just not for OHIP funded patient care..... Are the CEOs held accountable for ensuring hospital capacity is maintained and safe COVID/IPAC practices are employed?
@jfrketich @TheSpec I wonder how much overtime the high paid nurse had to work because there wasn't enough staff.
@jfrketich @TheSpec And now HHS has hired this dismal president of St Jos. What could go wrong? She is leaving an utter mess behind and preparing to start anew at HHS. Great recruitment.
@jfrketich @TheSpec Wait I thought healthcare sector needed more funds?
@jfrketich @DFisman @TheSpec The business model is a terrible one for hospitals. It’s designed to be top heavy, creating a thick layer of extremely expensive administrators & underpaid & overworked frontline workers. The fat at the top applies business priorities of “efficiency” designed to enrich the rich
@jfrketich @DFisman @TheSpec This, while stating it’s not sustainable to pay more for staff to work overtime….
@jfrketich @TheSpec They keep saying the salaries are for retaining top-notch talent. I don’t see much “top-notch” results. I’m confident that a newer business MBA who would accept a lower salary could do the same job.
