one thing I realized from 18 years of atheism was that you’re never really an atheist. people always worship something, whether it be the state, particular politicians, science, etc. in the end, everything but God will let you down.
@kwhitaker_ One thing I realize from my years as an atheist is that many Christians are unaware of the meanings of the words they try to use. wor·ship /ˈwərSHəp/ the feeling or expression of reverence and adoration for a deity. ============ de·i·ty /ˈdēədē,ˈdāədē/ a god or goddess
@kwhitaker_ Most atheists I've met were deeply wounded and angry at who they THOUGHT God was, and what he had done or not done. It's not that they didn't believe.
@kwhitaker_ Amen to that! The faith always gets placed somewhere. If they only knew how good He really is
@kwhitaker_ I’ve decided that worship is fundamental to our nature like breathing. Knowing that you WILL worship something makes you realize that even if our understanding of the Christian god is wrong, it sure as heck beats everything else.
@kwhitaker_ @LegendaryEnergy That's true. If you'd like to get quite deep into why that's true... apaththrough.substack.com/p/going-deep?r…
@kwhitaker_ What you haven't realized is, the fact that you have always worshipped something does not mean to say everyone is thus equally afflicted. You're projecting. You only thing that can ever really let you down is your own expectations 😏
@kwhitaker_ Actually, math doesn’t let you down.
@kwhitaker_ I worship dogs and am perfectly ok with that
