15 years ago today, Steve Jobs unveiled the first iPhone. Now, there's 6.3+ billion smartphone users. Tech adoption has been incredibly fast and is getting faster. This can either help humanity or destroy it. Both outcomes should be considered with every new thing we build.
@lexfridman Elon Musk goes on “The Bernie Sanders Experience”
@lexfridman Should point out that iPhone was far from the first smartphone, nor was it the first phone in slate form factor (look up LG Prada & PDA based phones from the mid 2000s). It just bought the smartphone to the masses. iPhone did bring improvement to display and touch functionality.
@lexfridman Maybe it will be considered by those who exist in a theoretical world, but in the real world things will happen that can happen.
@lexfridman Wait until we go from less than 1 million #nft wallets to 6.3 billion
@lexfridman Agreed. Same with social media. Only time will tell if the good outweighs the bad. I'm afraid that our tech is destroying us from the inside out.But more precise and meaningful connection between people can make us all better. Speak the truth and let the chips fall where they may
@lexfridman Crazy that 15 years ago was only 2007 It was Senior year of high school during iphone unveil (moto and razor were king), also kind of embarrassed to have had a pager before that. It was more of my dad to reach me on Fridays. 2nd use others to let me know when too 🚲
@lexfridman Sadly, money will mostly be the driving force to all the new inventions.
@lexfridman Last year @elonmusk unveiled the TeslaBot. Someday there will be more TeslaBots than humans.
@lexfridman Elon what will be the price of your most inexpensive car in 15 years?
@lexfridman We still have a dishonest market system, and still have no public discourse about how to fix it. A dishonest market means harmful practices are profitable. We don't live in a sustainable society (so collapse is inevitable and gains are temporary) *because* harm is profitable.
