Here's my conversation with Magatte Wade (@magattew) about Africa, communism, capitalism, and the role of economic freedom in empowering nations to flourish. Magatte is an amazing human being with a powerful vision for Africa & for the future of humanity. youtube.com/watch?v=Q6tDV3…
@lexfridman @magattew I thoroughly enjoy WATCHING her talk. You can see that she is not repeating some memorized b.s. talking points. She is thinking, processing, and putting out well-thought-out analysis of what has gone on.
@lexfridman @magattew Some quick Garvey facts in response: Marcus Garvey was Jamaican, not American. Garvey, who spent his entire life encouraging Black entrepreneurship, was clearly not a socialist. And Garvey definitely did not attend the 5th Pan-African Congress in 1945 because he died in 1940.
@lexfridman Many of you are DM’ing me for additional resources to further your understanding of key topics discussed w/@lexfridman. Here for my top 3 1. George Ayittey, “Africa Unchained.” 2. Hernando de Soto, “The Mystery of Capital,” 3. This essay by Paul Romer, files.ethz.ch/isn/113646/142…
@lexfridman @magattew Lex is no longer trustworthy, since shilling ETH to the general public
@lexfridman @magattew Lex, Ukraine interviews, please. Russian interviews as well if you have them. We are yearning for truth and context with regard to this war.
@lexfridman @magattew As a Kenyan, we are way behind on economic development. We have had economic freedoms in the country since independence. I think corruption is the real impediment to Africa's development and the lack of government's focus on innovative models
@lexfridman @magattew This convo is so amazing! Learned a lot!
@lexfridman @magattew Incredibly inspiring and clear ideas in an era of cynicism and moral confusion. So many people need to listen to this. You are a beacon of light @magattew, I'm so glad did not give up.
