It is unacceptable to block news content for Canadians. Google’s arbitrary “tests” have harmed Canadians, journalists and news organizations. As a result of the lack of cooperation from Google Canada, the Heritage Committee unanimously agreed to place them under oath in 1/3
yesterday’s meeting. As a former journalist in Hamilton, I know how important it is for my constituents to have access to news content, which is why we introduced Bill C-18, the Online News Act, and we see how Google is abusing its dominance in the market place to strong arm 2/3
the Canadian Government. We asked clear questions, Google failed to answer, and the lack of transparency is both concerning and disturbing. 3/3
@lisahepfner There’s that word again. Transparency. Hypocrite Liberal who needs to look in the governments mirrors!
@lisahepfner WE scandal, prorogue government. Transparent? Lisa. Stop drinking the tainted Trudeau bathwater. Be better.
@lisahepfner Our newspaper had clear questions we wanted to ask you and get answers for but our messages with the request weren’t returned.
@lisahepfner Why do I have to pay for CBC news on TV or streaming
@lisahepfner Incredible work yesterday @lisahepfner !
