I've got a friend who wants to teach Unreal Engine locally *as* well as help the local Middle/High Schools with curriculum/lesson plans for getting the next generations using #UnrealEngine5. I don't see anything solid from @EpicGames so any suggestions I can forward his way?

Welp, while I was laid off last week with a large chunk of Epic Games employees today is the official day on the paperwork. The people I worked with were the best part. To put a positive spin on it, most of those people were let go as well so now we get to hang out more often!

Here's a cool thing in Sequencer: If you have a variable and a function with an input with the same name but "Set" at the start Sequencer will actually run the function when you set the variable in the timeline! In this situation I have "LightColor" and "SetLightColor". #UETips

If you're getting Gimbal Lock in Sequencer be aware that you can tell Unreal to use Quaternions for that section to resolve it. It's just a checkbox and it'll stop you from implementing some of the.. uhh.. more "creative" solutions I've seen! #UETips

Making tutorials is a _long_ process. The video on the Gameplay Ability System took me about 9 hours to get the script together, write a demonstration project and then record + edit everything into something that isn't 5 hours long. Lucky I love doing it 😄

@kliansenpai @mathewwadstein @SudoKidTV If I got it correctly last year, Verse is not at feature parity with BPs nor is replacing them in any form and it should be a different VM. Not sure about details and plans, of course, I think @mathewwadstein knows but can't say 😶🌫️. Honestly I hoped it would've been a 1:1 for BPs…
@kliansenpai @mathewwadstein @SudoKidTV Verse purpose, at this point, is two-way: one and primary is to provide FN community with something that is code and more capable than BPs but still not C++ as its critical requirement is to be super-safe, stable and harmless.
@mathewwadstein @toncijukic @SudoKidTV Oh yeah, that's for sure. I saw the UEFN + verse presentation, and Tim was talking about the fact verse is currently using the same framework used by blueprints when it comes to compilation. That's why I made this connection in the first place.

@mathewwadstein @kliansenpai @SudoKidTV There are technical and semantical issues with Blueprints that are still very valid arguments against them in general. For tutorials these are superb most of the time, but caution is advised when learning because they can be a source of terrible things.
