0:08: "It's our ball, right?" Mavs had plenty of time to come to that side of the floor. They fell asleep. Hardy even passes by the camera. Can hear refs at end explain to Kidd, we pointed your direction because it was "your timeout", even if the hand signals were confusing.
Then why was the ref who said it was our ball lined up by our baseline and not on the other side of the court ? And why did they blow the whistle after the play to clarify rather than before ? Because the ref knew he had made a mistake? They have to all give the thumbs up to start.
@BrandoStarkey @TasMelas Because we were walking back from our bench after the time out, thinking it was our ball. You do know the announcer announced it was Dallas ball ?
Because we were told it was our ball by an official near our bench? Because it was announced as our ball ? Look at Looney's reaction. He thought they made it our ball. But the ref told him otherwise. So they knew. Everything we heard said it was our ball The play occurred on the opposite side of the court from our bench. You aren't going to see every move by the ref. So you depend on the officials and the announcer We heard Dallas Ball. We were told Dallas Ball. The refs had an entire time out to tell us and each other the call . And when we were not lined up to defend they could have blown the whistle before the play rather than after or called a delay of game. If they didn't think there was a mistake afterwards , they would have told our coach to go back to the bench. Instead they stopped play and there was a discussion that should have happened before they inbounded. I talked to the ESPN crew right after and they had no idea what had happened
@mcuban @BrandoStarkey @TasMelas Genuine question here, Mark - what outcome are you specifically looking for if the protest is deemed successful? Do you want the game to be replayed from that point or for there to be an OT?
