Why yes, in fact. 🥰 Try this piece on high cardinality: oreilly.com/library/view/9…, or this: charity.wtf/2020/03/03/obs… As for high dimensionality, it just means "wide". A dimension is a key-value pair, so "high dimensionality" means lots of k/v pairs per log event. Wide events. 💕

Enjoyed this one with @LukasFittl @mipsytipsy and the crew. Yes, databases are really cool. ORM usage w/o solid fundamentals of SQL, queries, and indexes - works, but only up to a point. Visibility/tracing could be better. bit.ly/3RLoAGf

Yes! One big hurdle to building o11y 2.0 tools is the rather unconventional tradeoffs you want from your storage engine, which are not widely available off the shelf. Like "fast and close to right is better than slow and perfect." Or, "ultra-low latency doesn't matter." 📈
