Sometimes it's worth emphasising that @IndependentSage are very much in the global scientific mainstream on covid policy.
The UK approach is an outlier - including btw on not vaccinating 5 to 11 yr olds while also doing little to stop spread in schools.
@tightropetom@Topov1981@AlCmarmite@RnFat I’d you say you, or a child you are reporting for, caught it in a school they thank you for you time and hang up. Or in the case of my 13 yo don’t even bother following a positive PCR.
New Zealand's Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, has cancelled her own wedding after announcing Covid restrictions for the country, following a cluster of community Omicron cases. She said “I’m no different to anyone else”.
Now THAT is what leadership should look like! 🙌🏼
“The new #NationalityandBordersBill .. not even Saudi Arabia, an absolute monarchy, has powers that strong!
Priti Patel .. has even proposed sending applicants offshore to be processed.”

The @metpoliceuk is corrupt. The Brother of Javid is Cressida Dick’s no.2. Cressida Dick herself went to school with Ghislaine Maxwell and the sister of the PM Rachel Johnson. The failure to investigate any crimes associated with the above is not a coincidence!
Boris Johnson is planning a 'mass clearout' of Number 10 team and a series of "populist" announcements in the coming weeks — to save his own skin.
I am beyond disgusted at this utterly selfish and shameless man. He’s a national humiliation. news.sky.com/story/downing-…
This reflects the opinions of many students in my school too. The youth of today are compassionate and thoughtful. Unlike our government who are self serving and money orientated twitter.com/skynews/status…
1 child died after accidentally coming into contact with peanuts so schools became peanut free. 1 child died after being hit by a ball in the head at school, so now we contact parents for every head bump. Several children have died of Covid already and we do nothing…🤯
I read this story with interest then when I read he was speaking to the met police I laughed and stopped reading. If the met have lost the trust of a someone like me who trusts snd believes in the rules of society they must be really corrupt. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politi…
@Missy_Megan I was assaulted by a parent. School was incredibly (and surprisingly) supportive of my well being and used solicitors to ban the parent from site. The police however were awful and she got a conditional caution that she broke and broke. I put in a complaint.
@PeteUK7 The unions have been useless. Yet still vilified by the press. Sadly I’m not sure anyone would challenge it through the legal system either. I’ve rather lost faith in any form of common sense prevailing
@RogersHistory@teachwellall I was assaulted by a parent. The school I work for, who work staff into the ground, gave me their complete support banning the parent from the school grounds backing it up with solicitors letters. The police? Couldn’t even be bother to turn up, eventually gave a caution.
I’ve watched terrestrial tv for the first time in years, winterwatch. I’d forgotten what an engaging presenter @ChrisGPackham is. Been watching him for 35 years, since I was 14. I can’t believe he’s 60!
@MumfordSa@petitejoueuse I do. But it’s not practical and I can manage well without. I hate being told what to do, especially when we have a member of staff hospitalised due to a Covid blood clot. They just don’t care.
Let’s be clear: if Tories are threatening to withhold public investment from constituencies as a way of keeping MPs in line then, yes, that’s blackmail & intimidation - but it is also corruption.
The moral decay at the heart of Johnson’s govt may be even worse than we thought twitter.com/ITVBorderRB/st…
