#49ers announced they've re-signed TE Ross Dwelley to a 1-year deal. Also made official the addition of DB Myles Hartsfield on a 1-year pact.

Hargrave said that usually teams spending that kind of money are in a more rebuilding phase. He was "nervous" he'd have to go to one of those teams to secure the bag. Fortunately for him, Niners came in strong right off the bat.

Biggest takeaway from first chat with new #49ers DT Javon Hargrave: He was clearly very surprised the Niners were in it as strong as they were. He said other teams came in with as good or better offers but the chance to secure the contract and play on a contender was a slam dunk.

#49ers re-signed LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles to a one-year deal. They declined to tender him as a restricted free agent. Presumably, he returns at a lesser rate than the tender amount would have been.

Oliver's first game back from the injury was, coincidentally, against the #49ers in Atlanta in Week 6. He was eased back in a bit, playing just 29 snaps but he had an interception and a pair of tackles that day.

#49ers QB Sam Darnold's 1-year deal is worth $4.5 million base value. Somewhat comparable in price/situation to Mitchell Trubisky in Buffalo two years ago (1 yr, $2.5 million). A chance for Darnold to be in a good situation whether he plays or not and go back to market in 2024.

#49ers restructured CB Charvarius Ward’s contract, converting $12.48 million of his salary into signing bonus and adding three void years. The move created just under $10 million in cap space. Space needed after recent moves.

Hargrave's deal has a pair of void years in 2027 and 2028 that help Niners spread his signing bonus further. For practical purposes, Niners could get out of deal in two years and save nearly $8 million against the cap, though they'd eat $18.6 million dead money.
