Not an ideal ending for Duke, but Jon Scheyer’s inaugural season at Duke ends at 27-9. Two crazy stats about this year that will stick with fans for awhile: — Duke finished undefeated on the season with a full/healthy roster — Duke went undefeated at home Bright future tho! 😈
@rheidrick24 @DrewChesh @DukeMBB Growing pains. Bright future, indeed. GoDuke!
@rheidrick24 @DukeMBB Also won the ACC Championship in his rookie season, only the 3rd coach in ACC history to do so (Bill Guthridge at UNC in 1998, and Vic Bubas at Duke in 1960, were the only others to do it). So he was the 1st in nearly 25 years, and only the 3rd in the ACC's 70-year history.
@rheidrick24 @DukeMBB This is the first time I'm not feeling absolute dread after a 2nd Round loss since watching Duke. It was definitely a good season! Team grew up, just got dealt a bad hand with Mitchell going down and 2 players for UT playing out of their minds. Future is bright as you said!
@rheidrick24 @DukeMBB Give them credit without a starter they battled a tough physical team. They need to keep some of these young guys around for next year. Replacing Flip will be a big task. Duke rolling out four freshman starters and no bench was gonna be a challenge. No Mark really hurt them today
@rheidrick24 @DukeMBB No they lost 1. UNC also finished undefeated with a full healthy roster. So did many other teams 🙄
@rheidrick24 @DukeMBB And ACC Tournament Champs in first season as HC.
@rheidrick24 @DukeMBB Hell of a season. Hats of to Tennessee for playing bully ball. They punched us in the mouth from the start. These grown men were too much for our youth to handle. Flip woke up way too late after getting elbowed all game.
@rheidrick24 @DukeMBB Couldn’t even make sweet 16🤷🏽♂️
