@scientists_feed @engineers_feed This is absolutely astonishing
@scientists_feed It says "exposure 4 hours". So shouldn't we see 1/6 (4h/24h) movement length on light?
@scientists_feed @engineers_feed @AJamesMcCarthy would care to show your first (or best) Andromeda picture? 👏
@scientists_feed Amazing how big it actually is in the sky, 6 moons across.
@scientists_feed The galaxy is really that old?
@scientists_feed Yeah but he had a really good camera. He didn't use his phone.
@scientists_feed @engineers_feed This gave me chills!
@scientists_feed You can see from the title, "Nebula 31 M", that people used to think that Andromeda was actually a Nebula rather than a galaxy. It was the 'island universe' hypothesis that first proposed that 'spiral' nebulae were actually entirely different galaxies. Really interesting stuff 🌌
@scientists_feed @engineers_feed Woah that is really impressive! That was a very long time ago, don't forget that the light that left the andromeda galaxy is around 2.54 million years by the point this photo was taken!
