Why won't the Minister of Municipal Affairs stand up for Edmontonians and Calgarians in need of affordable and deep subsidy housing?

Edmonton needs over 40,000 affordable and deep subsidy rental homes. We are in the middle of a housing crisis. The UCP talks about announcing 25,000 for the entire province. It is far from meeting demand.

Recently there were multiple releases from oils sands, both the AER and the UCP failed completely at their jobs. The Minister of Energy called it “just muddy water,” the Minister of Environment said arsenic laced drinking water “remain[s] safe.” Would they drink it? 1/ #AbLeg

Today the UCP voted against transparency. They don’t want to know what’s happening inside Alberta classrooms. They don’t want to show you how crowded and complex our classrooms have become. They are more focused on cost containment than supporting our students and it’s shameful.
