21 hours agoMulticultural Health Brokers Cooperative has been supporting Edmonton's newcomer community for 25 years. It's turning out to be a beautiful weekend, what seeds will you be planting in your community?

2 days agoEdmontonians are being pushed out of every room they need to access, from emergency rooms to classrooms. When will the UCP commit to building the south hospital and the necessary schools that we desperately need in Edmonton?

Rachel Notley @RachelNotley
3 days agoStanding room only! Maybe this kind of turnout is why Danielle Smith doesn’t want to risk in-person pension town halls? Hard to pre-screen this many folks…

4 days agoAccording to Nate Horner, 150 Albertans — a whopping 0.003% of the population — were able to ask their questions at the UCP’s telephone town halls on leaving the CPP. Danielle Smith seems happy with this.
Here’s what Albertans actually had to say at one UCP pension town hall:

4 days agoDespite the 7.5 million dollar propaganda campaign, Albertans aren’t buying what the UCP are selling – in large part because there’s still no price tag on this costly gamble.
Tell us what you think about leaving the CPP here:

5 days agoWhy won't the Minister of Municipal Affairs stand up for Edmontonians and Calgarians in need of affordable and deep subsidy housing?

Sarah Hoffman @shoffmanAB
5 days agoEdmonton needs over 40,000 affordable and deep subsidy rental homes. We are in the middle of a housing crisis. The UCP talks about announcing 25,000 for the entire province. It is far from meeting demand.

6 days agoThe Premier’s use of her Sovereignty Act only accomplishes one thing. Hurting Albertan jobs. It creates more uncertainty, more chaos & drives away investment. Period. #ABleg #ABpoli edmontonjournal.com/news/politics/…

6 days agoToday the UCP voted against transparency. They don’t want to know what’s happening inside Alberta classrooms. They don’t want to show you how crowded and complex our classrooms have become. They are more focused on cost containment than supporting our students and it’s shameful.

a week agoThe Sovereignty Act hurts investment certainty and will cost Alberta jobs. It also completely ignores the rights of First Nations. We need a government focused on moving our economy forward, not holding it back.

a week agoI am saddened to learn about the passing of Gurpreet Singh Sihota.
Gurpreet ran provincially multiple times under the Alberta’s NDP banner and contributed towards strengthening progressive politics in this province.
My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

a week ago1/ I delivered my first member statement. Alberta is home to leaders who built the renewable sector.
Alberta prospers when govt and industry work together. Yet this govt is working overtime to undermine it.
Albertans deserve leadership that will lead us to the future #ableg

2 weeks ago.@RicMcIver, defending the UCP's bill that would let the Cabinet increase the amount of gifts that they are allowed to accept, says it's about "listening to Albertans." The UCP communicates with people through gifts they receive?

Marie Renaud @MarieFrRenaud
a week agoAfter seeing bills to make lobbyist' gifts and Albertans' pensions more accessible to a UCP government, we thought it might be time to ask about actual accessibility legislation. It already exists in most places outside of Alberta. They sure didn't like that question. #ableg

We will. See you there:
