New Audible: -- How would current hoops darling San Diego State fare in the Pac-12 in football? -- @AntonioCMorales on what he's seen from USC this spring. -- And apparently AT&T Stadium tour guides think the press box is an open bar. open.spotify.com/episode/0do9Kp…

Credit to @Eric_Single for this one. Every Final Four team is either: -- Current Big East member (UConn) -- Former Big East member (Miami) -- Future AAC (formerly the Big East) member (FAU) -- Former Big East invitee, albeit very briefly (SDSU)

I have no doubt we will read about it being the lowest-rated Final Four ever. But the two weeks leading into it were well worth it. (For us.) twitter.com/richarddeitsch…

@recruittheboot First title was '99, not THAT recent. Florida football's first was '96.

Now that the field is set: Yep, weirder. No 8 vs. 11 game, but 3 first-time Final Four teams and 1 blueblood. twitter.com/lindol22/statu…

No. 5 San Diego State vs. No. 9 FAU No. 4 UConn vs. No. 5 Miami Truly a Final Four like no other.

We already have one Final Four first-timer and the winner of this Creighton-SDSU game will give us a second. If Miami wins later today, that will be a third first-timer. The last time we had 3 teams make their debut at the same Final Four was 1970 (Bonnies, NMSU, Jacksonville).

George Mason was amazing. Covering their win over an absolutely loaded UConn team in the Elite 8 was one of the highlights of my career. twitter.com/dgough94/statu…

I spent la day with FAU basketball for a feature on Matt Doherty when he was there. It was the kind of place where they put up lawn signs saying “basketball game tonight.” FAU in the Final Four with zero hoops history is arguably crazier than Wichita State, Loyola and the rest.

I was thinking this year is shaping up to be the “weirdest” Final Four of my lifetime and then .. nope, 2011.

There have got to be a lot of office pools out there where nobody has any teams left and the winner is decided.

You know what's crazy? As of this moment there are 10 teams still alive and only three (Miami, K-State and Texas) are from the P5 conferences. Those leagues received 27 of the 36 at-large berths.

@Gerbo3 This is exactly what I meant by watered down, but no one got it. The top teams aren’t as good. Which leads to more upsets. Which is fun.
