Students at a Utah high school basketball game barked like dogs and yelled racial stereotypes at opposing Asian American and Polynesian players at a game in January, video shows. Parents say school officials have brushed off their concerns. trib.al/ofVrmVg
@sltrib If I have a kid there's no chance I'm letting them be raised by Utah's public schools, look at how inbred this is
@sltrib Kids just need thicker skin until the crowd starts yelling "f the mormons". Do I have that right?
@sltrib My daughter is biracial, and she was getting bullied. When I talked to the school they said no kids do that here, and that was it, got so bad I changed schools for her, same thing happened at church to her, we never felt accepted anyway so we no longer go, Utah needs to do better
@sltrib Just the Utah way
@sltrib I was bullied everyday in school. For breathing I guess🤷♀️. As a parent if your kid is being bullied, doing it or looking away your kid needs help! My daughter went to BYU-Hawaii, she was hurt by ‘you’re not(fill in) you cant participate’, was hurt but helped, loved anyways!…
@sltrib Goddamn it, not again… Can Utah please stop being racist for a little while…
@sltrib @calvinjburke This happens again and again in Utah k-12 and @SpencerJCox has done absolutely nothing to meet the problem. Requiring sensitivity training and other measures could be quickly implemented but we can’t protect kids because Cox is scared of being labeled “woke”
@sltrib Where the hell is this racism coming from?! Kids don't invent this, they learn it at home. This is a very real problem. It's abhorrent on its own, but left unchecked, this leads to extremely dark places we do not want to go.
