Back in the Capitol. On the Senate side. They should gavel in shortly. Waiting to see if they suspend rules and take up HB 335, the vaccine exemption bill.
Senate has started. @WVSenatePres almost had members rise again for prayer and pledge. “Maybe we should pray,” Blair said after correcting his mistake.
Senate is receiving the message on HB 335, the vaccine exemption bill. It’s been taken up and read a first time with no references to a committee.
Senate is suspending the constitutional rules requiring bills be read three separate days to pass Gov. Jim Justice’s two broadband bills added to the special session call this morning.
HB 3037, one of two broadband bills, passes 33-0 with unanimous bipartisan support.
Next up is the second of the two broadband bills, SB 3038. Rules being suspended for that as well.
Now to SB 3034, the senatorial district bill…which will lie over one day and retain its place on the calendar. No action on the map or amendments.
Senate is waiting on House to gavel back in at 4 p.m.. Sounds like House will adjourn subject to call of the chair. Don’t know if that means if the Senate will come back this weekend or next week.
.@mawtrout speaking during remarks from members regarding the alleged Karnes/Tarr map.
Ok, both the House and Senate are adjourning subject to the call of the chairs (Blair and Hanshaw). Sounds like it could be longer than the beginning of next week.
