Even if you like your job, build towards financial independence ASAP Odds are you'll *eventually* want out (could be b/c of new bad management, new economy shifts away from your skills or you just get fed up) When it comes, you'll want out quickly & you'll need funds to do so
@thewealthdad I can attest this to be true - what seems like a great position in a good company can turn on you fast. Days of 30 year careers in one place with cush position just ain’t realistic now. Don’t get complacent!
@thewealthdad I was working for a terrible boss and one day he said, “You can’t afford to leave so I don’t have to promote you.” That was his reason. He didn’t know that I was saving and investing for years. I left two weeks later. I had options. He was let go within a year.
@thewealthdad That’s definitely something one should do,if you have the ability to do so b/c if you get to a point where you don’t like your job anymore or you just don’t want to deal with the way things are going, you’ll feel Stuck. Especially if you have no money but need to feed your family
@thewealthdad I agree. I quit my last 9 to 5 on a whim after some disrespect from my manager at the time. I was only confident enough to take the decision to walk out because i already had a side business making me double the pay of my 9 to 5.
@thewealthdad So true. I’ve seen many people having to leave work for family or health reasons too. You just never know when it’s gonna end. Reach FI sooner rather than later.
