Today, we are in the midst of a national trauma that could very well surpass 9/11 and approach the heightened terror of the Cold War years. The COVID era has changed our children’s lives in far more real, tangible ways. usatoday.com/story/opinion/…
@usatodayopinion @goldiehawn Seeing parents fighting each other about masks & children losing friends over it, is what is damaging children. Not the actual wearing of the mask.
@usatodayopinion @goldiehawn Thank you for speaking up about the very real crisis of our children’s mental health. It’s very alarming and we need more attention brought to this world-wide issue. Kids need way more access to counseling and treatment for depression/anxiety/fear and the list goes on. ♥️🙏🏻♥️
@usatodayopinion What about banned books 📚, shooter drills, & school shootings trauma?
@usatodayopinion What chemicals have you injected into your face? Very unhealthy. A piece of cloth over a child's face is protective from a Pandemic that can leave them with long covid. Which is lifelong illness. Diabetes, heart issues and much more. Educate yourself.
@usatodayopinion @goldiehawn I’m a teacher aide for K-8th. My daughter is a music teacher in Colorado. My mother was a teacher aide for 25 years, ten of those special needs in high school. Children aren’t suffering because of masks. They suffer because of the hate in our politics.
@usatodayopinion @goldiehawn Covid is causing diabetes, heart disease, lung disease, and cognitive impairment. We don't know how long that is going to affect people, including children. Failing to protect children from an AIRBORNE virus that does this is negligent.
@usatodayopinion My grandson is 4 yrs old and wears a mask to school every day. His mom has an array of superhero and video game themed masks that he gets to choose from and he has great fun choosing. Its become a fun accessory and not a mental health issue. Our kids are fine.
@usatodayopinion How about trauma of possibly infecting your parent or grandparent? My daughter is a music teacher (PK - 8). Last two years have been hard but kids are fine and happy to be at school! They don't care about masks. Maybe the positive is they are learning to care about one another.
@usatodayopinion @goldiehawn @goldiehawn I love your performances as an actor, comedienne, dancer, etc. But I wish you would sit this one out.
