Tonight the Conservatives voted to raise taxes on the wages of the poor, not the wealth of the super-rich. That tells you everything about who they really represent.
@zarahsultana Socialism for the rich and rapacious capitalism for the poor.
@zarahsultana Well ur lot need to start acting for working class people and businesses not alienating half ur core voters please zarah
@zarahsultana As Labour found in the 1970's if you tax the rich it drives them to run their businesses outside the UK. Then you get more unemployed in the UK. How do you get around that?
@zarahsultana In principal I think a tax on the genuinely super-rich would be a much better idea, but what is to stop you classifying everyone earning over the average income as super-rich? If you defined what “super-rich” means, I might well support it.
@zarahsultana @DefendourNHS Britain has maintained its class system for centuries, free of any threat from "democracy" or the rights of the common majority. And nothing will conceivably change; they own the whole country.
@zarahsultana Not sure where anybody got the idea they were going to tax wealth. This was never going to happen.
@zarahsultana I dont mind putting a little extra in, and I dont think any reasonable person would, but it does feel like only the lowest earners are footing the bill. There should be a balance. Feels like the typical Tory ‘them and us’ approach….again
@zarahsultana What about this 50 million a month to Serco for a Test and Trace app that isn’t fit for purpose? Surely that would put a slight hole in the deficit
@zarahsultana @heather63262308 Only now it's a private jet to the Caymans
@zarahsultana @whoviankim At £81k pa salary. Are YOU going to volunteer to pay more? Simple yes no will do I suspect no, since you got made to repay £5568 of “incorrect “ expense claims
