@jmwilt21 @oneuios @spigen same, until i tried to put a case on it. the screen protectors get so close to the edge that they are peeled off by any case you put on it D:

The vertical bar is a genuinely bewildering decision from apple. I’m sure I’ll get used to it but it causes the front screen to seem so much smaller than it is. I’m noticing a lot of unpolished software quirks. Love how it feels in the hand, multitasking is fun, inner screen is better than I expected. Overall excited to see things get better over the coming months.

@Jon4Lakers a lot of fun but definitely more polish is needed.

@WorkaholicDavid no, it's reality. the amount of people who need more than two open is slim. this is such a dumb talking point. very few people need to open fucking five apps on their phone. if you need to, then you most likely already use a phone other than an iPhone.

@zherbert @jmwilt21 yeah, even if you made these two islands vertical, it would still look good and be less annoying. it also would've allowed for more usage of the liquid glass concept. very strange.

the buttons hovering over the content would be fine if the buttons disappeared when necessary. i don't have much hope anything will change because 1) that would require apple to update all of its apps, third-party devs to update their apps (again), and for apple to implement new guidelines moving forward 2) it seems apple was very (annoyingly) deliberate with this choice to force people to use the phone a certain way. just hoping it's one of those things we get used to.

@AdamRackis oh no, will somebody please think of the big companies. they should be able to manipulate their stock prices to benefit the people at the top and fuck over their employees. the horror!

@KingTruckersPOV @BobbyGsCorner @LeakerApple apple didn't "do" this. how many times do y'all have to be told apple cannot control third-party applications?

@jmwilt21 @SexualWigger i think they're just throwing something out right now and hopefully, maybe coping, something better comes out later after they're able to spend the time to create a different experience?

i mean, there's no compromise with the interface, though. apple wants people to use this phone in a very specific way so the interface was made to force people to use it that way. it's a very apple thing to do. apple dropped the ball waiting so late to push the SDK out for devs. day one having a bunch of unoptimized apps sucks, but it'll get better with time. personally, idc about the crease. a tradeoff with a foldable imo.

@Techwithyami Yeah, we know the nanotexture is meant to hide the crease as much as possible, so if you remove it, then yeah, the crease is as visible as any other foldable… Are you slow?
