Remember when the neighborhood was mad at the taco trucks because “if A Emergency happen, how would EMS get to their house?” Why aren’t they being vocal about the construction? They just don’t want us on The Strip 🤣

Painful to watch. A business owner describes how his business is being destroyed, not through any fault of his own, but because bad city leadership can't figure out how to finish the construction in front of his business. He's put it forward articulately and thoughtfully.

Augustine Cortez, owner of Augie’s BBQ off of Broadway, has lost 80% of his business because of the construction. He said these funds should’ve been presented before the projects even started. He also brought up how other businesses are still reeling from past projects.

Yes, marketing is a start. But that is NOT the intention I had when I supported funding a construction mitigation program in the budget. Businesses on N New Braunfels, the St. Mary’s Strip, and future construction impacted businesses need direct relief and a sustainable fund.

Everyone is pro small biz when it comes time to cut a ribbon and get a photo op, but y’all are real quiet when dozens of your locally owned businesses are drowning daily because of city/ contractor mismanagement. @COSAGOV @Ron_Nirenberg @ejwskk @zacklyke

I never thought I’d make it out of Covid as a small business only to have my own city government botch a contract/ construction job that’ll purposely put me and several others out of business. @COSAGOV @Ron_Nirenberg @ejwskk @zacklyke @SpawGlass1953

@TPRNews has confirmed there is a warrant out for @district10perry's arrest for "failure to render aid" after a car accident on Sunday. It is a class B misdemeanor. Here is the story @Joeycules wrote after Perry acknowledged the accident, not much else. tpr.org/government-pol…

Where do you think they are taking him for lunch after to cheer him up? My guess is Panchito’s where they’ll cut his enchiladas for him into little pieces and airplane feed them into his mouth.

Councilman @MarioBravo's parents are speaking to support him ahead of City Council vote to censure him this morning. "I believe that democracy is at stake today, here, in these chambers with this resolution," Bravo's mother Katherine Bravo says.

Imagine, instead of apologizing for an emotionally abusive outburst, you just ask your parents to come talk about how great you are and how unfair this all is for you 😶

And again every business on this street has received NOTHING in construction impact funds, not even a single utility bill waived for having to close on a Saturday night when THESE construction crews broke a main water line…

I understand you need to replace the sidewalk, it was also my understanding there would be some form of accessibility at all times thru construction- Certainly you can understand the optics of ppl not being able to reach a business… @COSAGOV @Ron_Nirenberg

In today’s rendition of “How can this shit get any worse?” There is now ZERO walkway or accessibility to El Buho and the rest of that block, rendering it almost totally impossible for customers to reach these businesses. 1/2

(clears throat) @MarioBravo has two current staff members that previously served on the board of the Tobin Hill Neighborhood Association.

Hey @ExpressNews, this a typo- His staff members “used” to sit on the Tobin Hill board…They definitely have had say in this “parking issue”, and they aren’t “former” staff members, they are still city salaried employees within the D1 office.

They sent him to Home Depot to get this “official city employee” jacket before making him remove this sign 😂(which I can’t take artistic credit for btw). No city truck, no badge, I’ll just hang them from my marquee if y’all want to go up there and get it…

While you’re out “breaking ground” on a new hotel, I’ll remind you that everyone knows you’re incapable of this job- Go back to whatever the hell you were doing before you decided to play dress up/ play councilman and resign @MarioBravo.
