Before Margaret Thatcher the UK had much cheaper rail, much cheaper mail, some of the cheapest Energy and Fossil Fuel in Europe and the cheapest water in Europe. Because we owned it. Look at it now, you pay more, the State PAYS more (totally insane), and it is worse.
