We, the general public, should not have known that Robert Downey Jr was Dr. Doom until December 18, 2026.

@tragic_endings_ @eliinreality Gender roles don’t exist til it’s time to take the trash out or lift something heavy, or the bill come.

@Itssan17 None of these depictions of the characters matched their comic counterparts.

This is revisionist history. People made entire careers off of dragging marvel after endgame. Tf is he talking about?

Nor does he do anything to actually deserve the ring. We don’t see Jon overcome fear, he doesn’t face any overwhelming odds. He’s “trained” but does any of the training make worthy of ring??

One of my biggest issues with Lanterns is how they portrayed Jon. Outside of his interactions with other characters, Jon is kinda boring. The most interesting thing about him is why he wants to be a Lantern. And it’s not even something he actually wants to do.

Jon doesn’t set anything in motion. Everything kinda just happens around or too him. Even when it comes to finding the Man hunter and solving the murder. Other characters literally just walk up to him and give him information. He doesn’t do any detective work.

@JosAnto49947308 @CQuill97 It we being honest the writing isn’t that good. It’s standard melodrama, you can get the same level of writing on CW shows. The issue is they traded in cosmic space cops for a bargain bin true detective side quest that wasn’t even intriguing.

@Brainiac_13 @CQuill97 They really traded in cosmic space cops for bootleg true detective. And not even the good season of true detective.

@Im_Mattx @JozuJoestarr But the story was mid to meh. The “mystery” wasn’t even a mystery. It’s like they based it on all The bad seasons of true detective,

“Grounded adaptation” use to mean we’re gonna take a practical approach to something that’s usually fantastical. Now it seems like that’s code for “we think the source material is goofy so we’re gonna add our own agendas to an established IP.”
