Some of the wild Atlantic salmon being caught in UK rivers right now are spectacular. And a relative miracle, given their migratory pressures. Compare these with the disfigured, stressed-out, bloated frankenfish grown in tanks. Salmon farming is an affront to nature.

Depressing! An unchanged fabulous mid lower Usk beat constantly fished. From the 1930’s - 2000s tops 160 salmon bottom 70 spread. 2023 - 0, zero, nil, zilch Decades of restoration activity never an outcome, never accountability to deliver anything! It’s a broken system folks!
8 salmon, one angler, one day. That amount surpasses our entire club membership's total for all of our water for the entire 2023 season. How far we have fallen can not be understated. We're getting to the last hurrah for salmon in UK. It is immeasurably sad.
