It is outrageous that many churches have a difficult time with the idea that adults can be abused. There’s an idea that if you are an adult, then a pastor can’t abuse you. Do we not understand the power that comes with the position of being a pastor? If not, we are deceived.

We have often blamed those who suffer for their trauma; we have failed to recognize that systems can be corrupt and power abused and that like our Lord, many people in this world suffer from totally undeserved injustice and trauma.
