The whole blended family thing isn’t great for children. But divorce ends up being good for the man far more often than for the woman. Men remarry sooner, and at higher rates, and usually to a younger wife with whom they are more likely to have more children. They achieve higher earnings post-divorce, too. I’ve seen men who were held back by bad wives, and divorce freed them of that burden. It’s ironic, because most divorces are initiated by women. But that just goes to show that they are the more irrational sex and often are not capable of managing their own affairs to their own benefit. Which would explain why prior generations did not let them make such decisions.

If they were doing it correctly, it would be difficult (or at least time consuming and challenging). Doing it correctly would be having a minimum of three children, homeschooling them, cooking healthy meals from mostly whole ingredients , and taking care of everything you can for your husband so that he can focus on providing and protecting. Unfortunately, a lot of these women still expect their husband to split chores and let their kids be raised by public school. I even know some who send their kids to daycare so they can have “me time.”

The absolute darkest truth about how society views men is that we do not actually value male life; we only value what a man is willing to destroy himself to provide. Think about the male archetypes we actually celebrate. The soldier who doesn't come home. The father who works three grueling jobs until his heart gives out. The athlete who permanently destroys his brain and body for our entertainment. We only applaud masculinity when it is actively bleeding for the benefit of someone else. The exact moment a man decides he wants to step off the treadmill—to prioritize his own peace, his mental health, or his physical safety over his utility to the world—he is instantly branded as lazy, weak, or unambitious. We don’t want men to be whole, healthy, or at peace. We want them to be highly functioning shock absorbers. We demand they build the houses, fight the wars, and fund the lifestyles, and our only reward for this lifelong, crushing expectation is a quiet funeral when the stress finally kills them

I hate to say this, but young men are going to have to make a very important decision in the near future. Many millennials and Gen Z women openly frame relationships and marriage as burdens or bondage. At the same time, statistics show nearly 50% of marriages end in divorce & women initiate 70% of them and men make up around 70–85% of child support payers. So as a man today, you have to realistically consider the risk. You’re living in a time where the cost of living is the highest it’s ever been, Housing is increasingly unaffordable, job security is declining & AI is expected to replace or disrupt millions of jobs. And in that same environment, you’re being asked to enter a legal contract where most men will get divorced, pay child support or alimony, lose time with their children & be forced to rebuild financially. So the question becomes very practical, not emotional, Can you afford that kind of financial setback in this economy? Is it worth the risk? Because for most men, it’s not just about heartbreak anymore. It’s about long term financial survival.
