Restore Britain will scrap the Senedd, the party's leader Rupert Lowe MP has confirmed. Responding to today's agreement between Rhun ap Iorwerth, Sinn Fein and the SNP, Lowe pledged to "roll back devolution" to disempower the three from pursuing their goals. Plaid Cymru and the SNP have faced criticism in recent times for using the devolved administrations in the Senedd and Holyrood to pursue what opponents call "open borders policies". The SNP's decision to refer to asylum seekers as the "New Scots", terminology that inspired the Nation of Sanctuary policy, has proven particularly controversial. Opponents argue the policies have led to social fragmentation and placed further pressures on services. YouGov polling shows Welsh people want to scrap the Nation of Sanctuary policy, an objective political strategists say can only be achieved realistically by abolishing the Senedd. Lowe claimed his plan will "restore democratic accountability" and give Welsh people a "fair say". He said: "Today I am announcing our policy of rolling back devolution. "The choice is clear. Accepting the status quo, and its endorsement of ever greater fragmentation of our United Kingdom.
