Rana Raj Singh ji Mewar was a great ruler, he defeated Aurangzeb at the peak of his power along with his sons. His son Kr Bhim Singh invaded Gujarat & destroyed 300 mosques in retaliation to Aurangzeb destroying Hindu Mandirs. He also denounced the Jizya tax levied by Aurangzeb.

Kautilya in his Arthashastra has explained the nature of the Licchavi form of government. He says that the sanghas of the Licchavis, the Vrjis, the Mallas, the Kukuras, the Kurus, the Pancalas and others lived by the title of a raja and didn't pay revenue to any one else. (5/n)

Similarly, the Lalita Vistara, Mahavastu, Cullakalinga Jātaka and Ekapanna Jātaka speaks of Licchavi rajas residing within the city of Vaishali, thus showing that all the members of the Licchavi clan living in Vaisall were 'rajas'. (6/n)
