Africa’s next generation is not waiting for promises, they are ready for opportunity. At #UNGA81 in New York, our AUDA-NEPAD and the Labour African Network, @Labour_african convened leaders to connect three imperatives: jobs, skills and investment. Opening the dialogue on behalf of our CEO, H.E. @nardosbthomas, Director @SymerreGrey highlighted initiatives such as the Africa Critical Skills Bank, ASPYEE and Creating Opportunities for Youth and Women in Africa (COYWA) platforms helping turn skills into opportunity and entrepreneurship into impact. “Africa’s next generation does not need more promises about the future. It needs institutions that work, skills that match opportunity, investment that reaches productive sectors, and partnerships that deliver at scale.” - Director Symerre Grey-Johnson. On Sunday, I joined members of the Jewish community to remember the victims of the horrific October 7 terrorist attack. Three years on, we hold in our thoughts all those still carrying the pain caused by that day. We stand with Jewish communities today and every day.

A busy week at #UNGA for discussions about education, Nepal, Gaza, sexual and reproductive health and rights, Sudan, nutrition, the rule of law and, above all, how we reform the systems we have built so they serve people and planet.
Every woman and girl should have the freedom to make informed choices about her own body free from coercion, discrimination and violence. I’ve announced new UK funding to help millions more women and girls take control of their futures.
