The argument really seems to be this. Any solidarity for Palestinians is construed as antisemitism. Thereby any public demonstration of solidarity is construed as distressing and threatening. But that claim isn’t true.
Well yes, if you turn up to a protest and argue with protesters, they will probably argue back? Which protest would that not apply to? If the argument is that someone, regardless of whether they’re Jewish or not, would thereby be assaulted or abused, the evidence isn’t given
So here’s an open goal for media outlets. If you have an Israeli spokesperson on your show, you can use this example as clear cut genocidal incitement and demand to know why it’s not punished. You can even point it theoretically carries the death penalty in Israel.
As a signatory to the Genocide Convention, Israel is legally obliged to prosecute genocidal incitement. It’s repeated refusal to do so alone places Israel in violation of the Genocide Convention. The International Court of Justice also ordered Israel to punish incitement.
