If you haven't felt stupid then you aren't managing risk. I've stopped out of lots of trades right on or near the lows and taken profits only to watch prices go WAY higher without me. Consistent application of discipline doesn't take 'feelings' into account.

if these more recent lows don't hold its a guessing game as to where things find support which is a game I don't play as knife catching is a circus act for clowns in my opinion that leads to bloody hands. Most importantly would be the point that markets that have lost lift...

are the MOST dangerous. The more this market continues to trade poorly and is dominated by distribution the more likely an accident or melt down is increasingly probable. The VIX is still only in the mid teens so a doubling here could easily be in the cards and be normal.

Well here we go again. Been talking about his on/off how bonds have been the driver of equity sell offs and my whole bullish thesis presupposed rates were contained. If this really blows out (lower) than stocks have a lot more work to do. Cash is your friend.

I wrote this in April of last year. I'd say given how the last 15-16 months have played out it was timely. What is funny is the number of people who are still saying 'bonds HAVE to rally' if stocks fall or we have a recession. Last year I kicked this dying horse all year...

Going through some old stuff and found these. The old Wilder books were probably fodder for some old ‘systems trading’ he did off the floor, the other is likely a record of the Hunts cornering of the silver market which was referenced in first chapter of ‘God in the Pits’.

The old apple may be starting to rot a bit here. Lots of distribution in the chart and big break on volume and can't rally is a bad sign. Would like to see this move lower while general continues to digest and see money rotate away from the 'magnificent 7'.

I LOVE fundamentals but I like to wait for the technicals confirm. So I don't trade on fundamentals alone as if the story is SO great and the fundamentals so incredible the technicals should eventually confirm. Has saved me LOTs of time & money.

Meanwhile in nonunion land things technically look a LOT different with both $HMC & $TM charts near or at 52 week highs. Funny thing is I own cars from Honda, Toyota, and GM and like them all. The charts and fundamentals of the company are a different story.

I NEVER trade anything on principle or just fundamentals but given the terms of this UAW strike I'm VERY tempted to short both $F & $GM. These guys want a 40% pay bump while working less & fully funded old school pension? If management caves the stock likely does as well...

Charts look terrible and I've seen the end of this movie before in '08 when the head of UAW was in congress with the big 3 begging for a bailout when the economy had hit the skids and no one wanted to buy new cars.

Started listening to this yesterday and I DON"T want a debate on NFLX doc (super entertaining) the point is YOU have to think for yourself and be aware of your OWN biases. THAT has enormous implications on life & trading. People lose the most when they fail to be objective.
